Lupe Fiasco – "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)"

Looks like Chi-town very own Lupe Fiasco just let his new official single go via Twitter titled "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)," off his anticipated new LP Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album. As soon as the track started many will instantly recognize the legendary horn riffs from Pete Rock & CL Smooth's "The Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)." Being producers Simonsayz and B-Side decided to flip the much-loved classic horn riff and making it for the perfect backdrop for Lupe to drop some politically lyrics. So far, we’re liking how this is sounding, mark your calendars for September 25, 2012. Check It Out And Enjoy. Props to Plex

  • Should have left that classic beat alone, unimpressed. Maybe if Pete Rock had worked on it, it would have a fresh feel, as opposed to sounding same ol same ol, with lackluster lyrics.
