  • Well the tune is dece, but seriously reeks of reverse racism. There is no way a white man could come out with a song ALL WHITE EVERYTHING and people would just call it dope.

Seriously retarded how much double standards there are in this society, if he wants to make this sorta song then people shouldn't cry foul to nazi punks or any of that shit.

    • I remember an old track called "White America" by Eminem…

      corporat February 22, 2011 9:12 PM Reply
    • lol There's no such thing as "reverse racism" for one.

Secondly, of course a white man would get shit for coming out with a song like this! You're missing the context of white America oppressing and enslaving minorities for hundreds of years, and the fact that white people are still the majority/in a position of privilege in American society. If you don't understand that, then we have nothing to talk about, tbh.

So Lupe made a song about what it would be like if Africans had never been slaves/second class citizens in the U.S.? It's an interesting concept. Stop whining.

      Moi February 23, 2011 5:07 AM Reply
      • white people majority? Have you done any research? Your wrong. The concept you point out I have no problem with, but its not what hes saying and stop pretending it is. All black everything is not saying all people are equal, its saying black is all he wants, the album cover has the black power fist on it… Does that mean equality? no.

    • The song is not solely based on the actual color "black". Lupe is using black with a neutral or monotone meaning behind it. There is no basis for differentiation between people based on race, ethnicity, religion, e.t.c. When you listen to Lupe you have to read more into the meaning of his lyrics bro, he's on a different level than majority of the rappers around these days.

    • many civilizations had slavery as a part of their culture. you might as well say africans were the ones who created civilized society if thats how you think… which leads me to believe that you lack knowledge

    • u suk man…you just dont get the point of the song
It is deeper then racism…Lupe has a nick for making songs wit ha deeper meaning

  • I love lupe but this song is so unintelligent that it bothers me.

First of all, If slavery never existed America wouldn't even be a world power. Without all that free labor America would have never caught up to other countries economically (and thus in power) by the times of imperialism or the great wars (WWI and WWII).

Second of all, if black people stayed in Africa (at that time) Lupe himself wouldn't even have fame or the resources to create this song or even make a living off music. The history of blacks in America gives modern day black people something to stand on in society… also without slavery the very roots of hip hop (blues) and hip hop itself would not exist.

Stick to songs about skating, lupe

P.S. the guy preaching about reverse racism is a retard

      Anonymous February 28, 2011 11:06 AM Reply
  • So slavery is okay because it made us a world power? since when is that okay?! and if you'd actually listen to the lyrics it makes sense. and i'm sure he'd be fine with not being famous if it meant slavery in the U.S. never happened!

  • you cannot be angry at the current generation for the past generations mistakes. if people continue to perpetuate racism and hate, then they must be willing to take the consequences of that hatred.

    Anonymous February 23, 2011 9:42 PM Reply
    • but if you do not do anything about it, then history will just repeat itself, in this case perpetuating the racism established by earlier generations.

  • Leave this song alone…topics are not on the table for everyone to understand and or speak about. We sons and daughters of slaves own our stories paid for by blood, sweat and many many tears. Lupe is a genius!

    Benaime February 24, 2011 2:33 AM Reply
  • ^ It's definitely better to talk about this song, for all it's topics. Artists want people to discuss their work, that's the -whole point- of making art, music, lit.

This song's about a dream, so it makes enough sense. It's a provoking and personal message. Lupe's not preaching 'I'm right you're wrong' he's just sharing perspective.

I think the "All White Everything" argument makes people so mad because IT IS discriminatory against white people to say "you can't make that song". Still, the bottom line is a really inappropriate context. Discrimination can be necessary. For instance if you ever want to balance the scales, you have to say "no more rocks on the heavy side" for awhile.

    Amy February 24, 2011 7:54 PM Reply
    • Really like the "heavy side of the scale" analogy.

You have no idea of what they thought or were thinking. What stories do you have about slavery? YOU were never there, YOU will never know. Quit pretending that YOU were harmed in anyway.
