Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Slum Village]

slum

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…

Today's delivery is brought to you by Slum Village. Now, I admit some of my recent choices for Daily 2% could be questionable so today its time to bring the BPM back down to a undeniable chill level and Slum Village is the group to do it. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "Fall N Love" and this is the original mix because they released a remixed version later when they couldn't get this sample cleared but this is too good to pass on you readers. J Dilla had a gift and there may be imitators but no one will ever have that something that he had. Check out the track and chill….

  • def. an amazing track.. good to hear again.
but, i just wanted to say this; ofcourse.. dilla as a producer was gold, no other producer ever was (is) on his level.. although madlib comes close as far as creativity and both developed their own sound.
BUT! what I didnt read/hear a lot is
as a MC, Dilla was pretty good as well. I really enjoyed his verses (on jaylib-album for example, he killed it). maybe not purely from a lyrical POV , but his intonation/voice/style (=swagger?? do they still use that word??? LOL) made him, a joy 2 listen 2!
